Client need

HomestoreSV is new a registered brand of Comercial Casa Jerusalem, a small home supplies retail business registered in El Salvador.

The company is looking to reach new markets with online sales. The website must provide the following features :

• process online payment through the a local bank, WompiSv by Banco Agricola
• calculate shipping fees by region
• build customer confidence,
• be easy to navigate,
• order checkout must be simple and quick

Methodology:

The new e-commerce platform was interconnected to the the existing company’s back-office. The develoment of the backoffice management web application for Comercial Casa Jerusalem is detailed in the related portfolio post. The functionalities of the back office have been enhanced with the following features:

Product management	Orders management
- Videos/images upload and descriptions enriched with attributes such as colors, and size.	Handling of different order statuses, the customer receives an email at each stage of the order.

Content management
Backoffice for dynamic content for banners and highlighted products on the homepage.

Alongside these developments on the backoffice, the new e-commerce website was implemented. The project was developped with open-source project Veniqa, offering e-commerce features, as a basis for the shopping site. The project was enriched with the following features :

• Sale in BtoC (business to customer).
• The design was adapted to the brand image of HomestoreSv
• Adding videos on product pages
• Online purchase is possible on an anonymous browser session (no signup required)
• Sales in USD only
• Connection to the WompiSv payment platform via payment link

Deliverable:

Deployment of new e-commerce website homestoresv.com and adding new features to the existing backoffice. The project was structured as follows:

• Backoffice API in Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, AWS S3 buckets,
• Backoffice administrator webapp in Vue.js with Vuex,
• E-commerce website API in Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB
• E-commerce website in Vue.js with Vuex.
• Integration with GitHub Actions to build a docker image for each project
• Hosting on Lightsail Containers
